For 2023, Jeep has released 7 new concepts showcasing what Jeep Performance Parts can offer and what the Jeep underground can build when they have a vision. We are going to explore the 7 concepts and what Jeep has built with each one.
GRAND WAGONEER OVERLAND CONCEPT
Wow, the Grand Wagoneer Overland Concept sounds like an amazing vehicle for off-road adventures! With its powerful Hurricane Twin Turbo 510 engine, this SUV can handle tough terrain and deliver excellent performance. The custom RedTail Overland Skyloft is also an impressive feature, providing a climate-controlled sleeping space for two people and stunning views of the great outdoors. The cozy interior with oversized beanbags, plush throw rug, and custom ambient lighting is the perfect place to relax after a long day of exploring. The exterior of the vehicle is just as impressive, with a durable black Rhino-lined roof, larger wheel openings, and custom wheel flares for superior off-road capability. The addition of a massive Warn winch and custom laser lights also enhances visibility during night-time driving. Equipped with 35 in tires wrapped in 18in wheels while a 1.5in suspension lift helps clear the tires. Overall, the Grand Wagoneer Overland Concept is a great example of how advanced technology and thoughtful design can make for an unforgettable off-road adventure experience.
JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON 4XE CONCEPT
The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe concept with Tuscadero exterior paint is a bold and powerful off-road vehicle that commands attention with its unapologetic pink hue and Gloss Black accents. This electrified off-road powerhouse features an adjustable AccuAir air suspension kit that allows ample clearance for massive 37-inch tires wrapped around custom 17-inch high-gloss black American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) Borah wheels. The Jeep design team has also added front and rear bumpers, differential covers, and a Warn Zeon winch from AEV to enhance its off-road capabilities. The signature seven-slot grille from the new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 20th Anniversary model adds a touch of classic Jeep styling to the concept, while the custom hood graphic with a tone-on-tone print ties into the interior theme. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe concept with Tuscadero exterior paint is a perfect example of how Jeep is always pushing the limits and challenging expectations with its innovative and bold design choices.
JEEP WRANGLER MAGNETO 3.0 CONCEPT
The Jeep Wrangler Magneto concept is an electrified off-road vehicle that has undergone several iterations. The first concept, Magneto 1.0, was introduced in 2021, followed by Magneto 2.0 in 2022, and the latest version, Magneto 3.0, in 2023. The Jeep Magneto is a BEV that offers zero-emission and extreme performance capabilities on and off-road.
The Jeep Magneto 3.0 concept is based on a two-door 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and features an updated axial flux electric motor that delivers increased torque output and range, along with updated programming. It has three driver-selectable functions that take advantage of the benefits of a fully electric powertrain in off-road situations: Output select, Two-stage power regeneration mode, and Aggressive hill descent mode.
The Jeep Magneto 3.0 concept also features Dynatrac 60 front axles, Dynatrac 80 rear axles, 20-inch off-road beadlock wheels, and 40-inch mud terrain tires, making it a serious rock-climbing machine. The vehicle’s proportion has been modified for ease of access, and the door opening, B-pillar, and front fender have all been stretched back for added accessibility.
The Jeep Magneto 3.0 concept has an updated paint scheme that pays homage to all three evolutions of the concept vehicle, with vibrant exterior details and red accents. The front seats have been re-trimmed in blue leather and adorned with red accent stitching, while the rear seats have been removed, and the floor has been Rhino-lined in Surf Blue for added functionality and durability.
JEEP SCRAMBLER 392 CONCEPT
The Jeep Scrambler 392 concept is a modern take on the original Jeep Scrambler (CJ-8) that was introduced in 1981. This small pickup truck was the first convertible, compact truck from the Jeep brand and was highly capable and versatile. The new concept takes the fun, open-air personality of the original CJ-8 and adds a powerful twist with a 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine that produces 470 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque.
To achieve lightweight off-road performance, the Jeep Scrambler 392 concept features custom carbon-fiber bodywork, including a laid-back windshield that matches a lower roof, giving it a chopped top hotrod look. The newly released AccuAir air suspension kit developed for the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator allows for an adjustable suspension lift ranging from 1.5 inches up to 5.5 inches and can be custom adjusted on the fly with an in-cab controller or through long-range Bluetooth on a wireless device.
Other features of the Jeep Scrambler 392 concept include sculptural rear quarter panels, wider rear flares, a new front fender flare, a carbon-fiber hood with a tinted clear insert, and custom front and rear lightweight bumpers. The concept sits on 40-inch tires wrapped around custom 20-inch rims, finished in Brass Monkey paint, and the exterior is painted in Sublime green, while the interior boasts custom seats with plaid blue inserts and green stitching.
Overall, the Jeep Scrambler 392 concept pays homage to the original CJ-8 while adding modern upgrades and a powerful engine to create a unique and capable off-road vehicle.
JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON 4XE DEPARTURE CONCEPT
The Jeep Wrangler 4xe Departure concept is a modified version of the best-selling and most capable PHEV in America, featuring several innovative and conceptual items from the JPP by Mopar design team. The spare wheel and tire mount allows the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe to push the limits of available departure angles with 4×4 electrification, riding on 17-by-8.5-inch Vintage Bronze KMC Impact OL wheels and 37-inch BFGoodrich tires. The concept features a JPP 2-inch lift kit with BILSTEIN performance shock absorbers, a custom-designed tubular grille guard, modified Rubicon bumper with a Warn winch, custom flat-fender flares and wheel liners, and JPP tube doors, among other things. The interior features expressive color combinations of light Acorn Squash Nappa leather contrasted with darker Carnegie Hall brown Nappa leather, accented with warm off-white Serafil stitching, as well as a concept instrument panel accessory rail to mount phones or accessories for recording trail rides. The Wrangler 4xe Departure concept is designed to explore innovative options for mounting the spare wheel and tire while keeping harmony with other accessories, with a custom convertible tube gate that offers front- or rear-facing positions for the spare wheel and tire, and a rear cargo compartment featuring Jeep Rubicon trail rails with tie downs to store additional accessories.
JEEP GLADIATOR RUBICON SIDEBURN CONCEPT
The Jeep Gladiator Sideburn concept is a special off-road vehicle designed to meet the needs of off-road enthusiasts. It is equipped with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine and a JPP 2-inch lift kit with BILSTEIN performance shock absorbers, which provide greater cooling capability for increased suspension travel and improved Jeep 4×4 off-road capability. The vehicle features black HRE 17-by-9-inch FT1 six-spoke wheels riding on 37-by-13-inch BF Goodrich tires for enhanced traction. The custom-designed tubular grille guard measuring 4 feet by 1 foot protects the seven-slot front grille borrowed from the 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 20th Anniversary edition.
The Gladiator Sideburn concept also features a modified Rubicon bumper with a Warn winch and a pair of removable 11-inch TYRI rectangular LED lights attached to each of the roof panels, suspended by custom bracketry in the concept-light fairing. The JPP Gladiator Sport Bar, made from lightweight carbon fiber and steel, enhances the space between the cabin and the bed and features bed steps on both sides for easy access. It also has a mid-shelf with tie downs for portable storage totes and four T-track rails on the upper portion to enable easy installation of bike, kayak or other roof-mounted cargo systems.
The bed of the Gladiator Sideburn concept is unique, with integral Molle panels above and behind the wheel flares for additional storage, integral RotoPaX containers for liquid storage during off-road adventures, and a modified Mopar bed-mounted spare tire carrier that holds a 37-inch wheel and tire. The open-air cabin features seats, armrest, shift boots, parking brake handle and half-door pull straps trimmed in a deep, dark, red-brown Vienesse Relicate Nappa leather with Soul-stopper thread. The custom instrument panel bezels carry a 3D topographical map of Moab scenery finished in matte-black base and gloss dark-silver trails. The accents throughout the cabin are finished in Atomic Silver matte paint, while decorative, stainless-steel JPP pedal covers provide foot traction for feathering through the trails, and a concept JPP heavy-duty vinyl floor system with integrated floor drains allows for quick interior hose-outs.
JEEP CHEROKEE 4XE CONCEPT
The Jeep Cherokee 4xe concept is a unique blend of vintage and modern design, combining a 1978 Jeep Cherokee body with the powertrain of a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe. The exterior of the vehicle retains the original proportions of the classic Jeep Cherokee SJ, while incorporating a bold and colorful paint scheme that pays homage to the 1970s. The interior features low-back bucket seats trimmed in leather, and the rear cargo space is equipped with a full-size spare tire and a four-point safety cage.
Under the hood, the Jeep Cherokee 4xe concept is powered by the advanced Jeep Wrangler 4xe powertrain, which consists of two electric motors, a high-voltage battery pack, and a 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine. This combination provides a unique on- and off-road experience, with plenty of power delivered to the 37-inch tires wrapped around custom 17-inch wheels. The powertrain is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a 4:1 transfer case.
The original Jeep Cherokee SJ was designed to appeal to younger, more adventurous drivers, and the Jeep Cherokee 4xe concept continues this tradition by offering a modern, electrified, off-road performer that retains the spirit of the original vehicle.
